Hi,
I have just tried scroller genie. I found it very easy to use and looked great. I first tried withh some text and then some graphics. No problems.
Then I went to try with what i really needed it for, an image map in the scroller. This has rollover effects in it. With this image map as content the scroller does not work. If I remove the image map and replace with the original image (no behaviors) then all is fine again.
Do we have a java script conflict with events here?
Is it possible to achieve what I am after?
If so, how do I do it?

Thanks,
Paul.

I've never tried it with an image map, so I don't know why it wouldn't work.
Can you upload your page, including the image map, somewhere so I can take a look?

Hi Paul,

When a Scroller Genie scroller is inserted in a page, there is also an scroller initialisation behavior applied to the onLoad event of the BODY tag (eg. onLoad="dmxFSG1(1,0,2,25,0,0,0,0);".

But in your example page with the image map, that initialisation behavior is not there anymore.
And that's why the scroller won't scroll.

You can re-apply the 'init' behavior to the onLoad event without having to insert a new scroller: select the BODY tag and select 'Scroller Genie - Init' from the appropriate menu in the Behaviors panel.
Just make sure you set the right options for your scroller in that dialog (eg. choose a horizontal scroll movement etc.).

Let me know if you need more help.

Regards,

Marja,
Thats great, works a treat. I'm quite excited about what this may enable me to do for my project.

I do have two further questions for which I will start new posts.

I have to comment that this support is great, immediate response from the author. any other readers of this post, do consider this factor when deciding whether to purchase scroller genie.

regards,
Paul

Well, it won't always be "immediate" because I do have other things to do in my life besides spending time behind my computer keyboard.
But I have to admit... I'm kind of addicted to my laptop <img src=../images/dmxzone/forum/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
