Apple unveils software to permit Windows use
Apple released a first-ever software patch to run Microsoft's Windows operating system on its Intel Macs, a move that could draw millions of new buyers.
Apple hopes to attract new users who want Macs, because of their design and interfaces, but prefer the Windows operating system.
The "Boot Camp" software is immediately available for download enables Intel Macs to run either Windows XP or Apple's Mac OS operating system software.
"We think Boot Camp makes the Mac even more appealing to Windows users considering making the switch," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in a statement."
