September 12, 2016

Now you can manage your extensions for Dreamweaver Beta 3

In a blog post last Wednesday, Adobe announced Dreamweaver Beta 3, which you can download and use. According to the report it comes with a new Developer Workspace to allow you faster coding with less distractions, compile SCSS/Less/SASS files on demand, support for PHP 5.6 and more new stuff. As we already know that you're eager to try it out with our extensions, so make sure to update your DMXzone Extension Manager and use its latest version.

The Story

What's New in DMXzone Extension Manager 1.1.3

  • Added full support for the new Dreamweaver Beta on both Windows & Mac
  • Improved auto start as minimised on Mac
  • Improved quit on Mac, now also DMXzone Extension Manager closes down gracefully on logoff/shutdown

Note: Once you install Dreamweaver Beta 3, make sure to have the lasted version of DMXzone Extension Manager installed. Just quit the manager and start it again so Dreamweaver Beta appears in the list of installed Dreamweaver version on your computer.

DMXzone Server Connect with Dark UI

The latest version of DMXzone Server Connect, which we released recently, has been improved and now it matches the dark Dreamweaver UI perfectly.

What's New in Dreamweaver Beta 3

Developer Workspace

The new Developer Workspace delivers that in a streamlined, performance-boosted, and clutter-free UI which will enable you to complete your next project quickly.

Source Formatting

Do you code as a team or share your work with others? Make your code more readable with Source Formatting option (Edit > Code > Apply Source Formatting) for .js, .json, and .php files.

Support for PHP 5.6

Dreamweaver now fully supports PHP 5.6. Take advantage of code and syntax hints, plus support for attribute values such as filepaths, colors, and constructs such as namespace.

Enhanced Click line-number to select code

Click line-number to select code, and drag-along the line numbers to select multiple lines of code

Enhanced Full-screen mode on MAC

Now you can view the current document in full-screen mode. For example, in Code view, you can increase the viewable number of lines of code by entering full-screen view. Click View > Full Screen (Ctrl + Cmd + F) to maximize the current document on the screen. Press Ctrl + Cmd + F again to restore the document to normal view.

Compile SCSS/Less/SASS on-demand for non-Site files

In previous versions of Dreamweaver, preprocessor files outside a Site would automatically be compiled to CSS code. With Beta 3, you can now compile SCSS/Less/SASS files on demand. By default, preprocessor files outside of a Site are not compiled automatically. To compile any SCSS/Less/SASS file to CSS use the Compile (Tools > Compile) command or simply hit F9.

Find and Replace Improvements

  • Text selected is now-auto-populated inside the Find box
  • Find is enabled for multiple lines of code

ColdFusion Support

The ColdFusion Support includes Tag, Attribute, Static Function, and Pattern hints for CFML.
